I love going to the Book Fair at school! I got four great books all for under $5. My favorite selection is Skippyjon Jones and the Big Bones by Judy Schachner. My fiance's mom loves those books and I have never really read one all the way through. Well, I saw that book and decided to buy it for a whopping $4.99, and after reading the book I fell in love with Skippyjon Jones! The book screams read aloud!
Speaking of books, I got my "Class Dictionary" laminated and bound! I had the students create a make-believe word after they read Frindle by Andrew Clements. In the book, frindle means pen. The students loved the book, so I thought this wrap up activity would be fun. It was my first observed lesson and boy was I scared. I rushed myself and skipped over parts that I needed to do... I think I have definitely improved my confidence in front of the classroom since that scary day. I start all over with a new class next January and this time I'll be teaching all day. I'm nervous, but at the same time I cannot wait to get comfortable in front of the classroom so that I will not be so nervous when I have my own. Anyway... School is out on Thursday for me! I cannot wait. I just have one silly paper due next Wednesday that I can chuck out in an hour or so. Then it's OFF TO AUSTRALIA! Woo!
